For Air Max heads and runner enthusiasts, Parra’s Nike collaborations are nothing short of legendary. The artist’s projects have produced some of the most coveted Air Max 1s of all-time, but the collaborative output has tapered off considerably in recent years. For summer ’18, they’re getting back to work. This Nike Air Max 1 features a patchwork-like upper that covers the mudguard and heel in mix patterns. It features a White and Grey upper accented with Blue and Red shades highlighted with mismatched striped and polka dot panels for a nice fashionable style.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Nike Air Max 1 were the first sneakers to showcase a visible Air unit. Hatfield inspired himself in the Centre Pompidou in Paris and its “inside out” design: the Air Max cushioning, hidden in the midsole, was now a key element in the aesthetics of the shoe. What began as a risky experiment in 1987 soon became one of the most iconic sneakers of all time.
